Welcome to the New Saturday Workshops at J’s International School. This program is focused to cater to returnees, international school students, and especially to those children who want to strengthen and improve their English skills. The Workshops are held every Saturday.
Literacy Workshop: 10;00 - 11:30am
This Workshop focuses on basic English skills of writing, grammar, vocabulary and phonics and building listening and speaking skills. Worksheets are used, with much of the time used to ensure that the children really understand. Children from grade 3 start on cursive writing. (Children are always excited about writing their names is cursive!)
Reading Workshop: 11:45 - 1:15pm
The Reading Workshop is designed to benefit those students who have an interest in reading. Reading out loud not only promotes comprehension and vocabulary, it supports spelling, grammar and expression. A progressive reader and worksheets are used to make learning interesting. New vocabulary is introduced and defined by making sentences with each word. Students also use their imagination to think of their own ending to the story they have just covered. The list of crazy episodes children prepare are truly amazing!
